UCSI Healthcare Group chairman

As Malaysia progresses across all areas of healthcare advancement, a key priority remains in ensuring an adequate supply of skilled doctors and nurses to meet the demands of our expanding population. Equally critical is the need to provide rigorous training for our healthcare professionals, ensuring they uphold the highest standards of care quality and clinical competency.
It is timely and essential that we leverage professional development, medical education and training to cultivate a competent workforce of doctors and nurses. These efforts are fundamental to building an effective healthcare system, one that enhances quality clinical care, strengthens preventive measures, promotes early intervention and optimises healthcare delivery.
In response to this need, the establishment of the Centre for Medical Education and Training represents a strategic initiative to address current healthcare challenges. Over recent months, dedicated departments and accredited trainers have been carefully appointed to implement fellowship programmes tailored to meet our healthcare needs and the growing population.
I extend my sincere appreciation to UCSI’s leadership for their commitment to launching this initiative. Their vision and dedication will catalyse transformative improvements in our nation’s healthcare landscape.
At UCSI Hospital, quality healthcare lies at the heart of everything we do. To make a lasting impact, we offer state-of-the-art facilities, cutting-edge medical technology and access to some of the most prominent doctors in the industry. To extend our reach, we took the bold step of becoming the only private hospital in Malaysia to operate a public wing.
As we celebrate our fourth anniversary, I am proud to announce the launch of UCSI’s new Centre of Medical Education and Training. This centre symbolises a milestone for us in our commitment to the professional development of healthcare professionals.
In collaboration with international medical institutions, the centre will run fellowship programmes, talks, workshops and seminars. It will also partner with global health technology companies to ensure healthcare professionals remain at the forefront of medical equipment and technological advancements. Beyond training, the centre will work closely with UCSI University to spearhead research in clinical practices, medical technology and healthcare delivery.
Our long-term goal is to promote smarter healthcare and continuous professional development. We aim to equip healthcare professionals with the tools and knowledge to stay relevant in a constantly evolving industry, enabling them to effectively navigate both present and future healthcare demands.
Most importantly, we want to empower these professionals to make critical decisions - ones that ensure patient safety, improve clinical outcomes, save lives and transform futures.
